As part of our LAX Airfield Tour, we will be traveling on an LAX-operated bus near active runways. For security purposes, all attendees must provide either a valid driver’s license (state and license number) or a passport (country and passport number).
These security measures are required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Police Division to ensure the safety of all participants. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Harold C. Samms III is the Deputy Executive Director of LAMP Performance at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), with over 30 years of expertise in transportation infrastructure. At LAX, Harold leads the operational readiness of the People Mover Train (PMT) and the Consolidated Rental Car (ConRAC) facility, projects central to LAWA’s modernization efforts. His background includes leading major transit developments such as Skylink in Dallas Fort Worth and AirTran at JFK. An expert in Automated People Movers (APM) and autonomous technologies, Harold is known for his innovative approach and operational excellence.
Dedicated to fostering diversity, Harold actively mentor’s diverse groups and supports women in the industry. He has established impactful internship programs to nurture young talent, shaping the next generation of transportation professionals. In his spare time, Harold enjoys cycling and building custom liquid-cooled gaming computers, blending his passion for precision and advanced engineering.
